What they don't tell you about divine wisdom - hafia sophia - is that up close it looks like an ancient apartment block:


They do tell you that the dome is absolutely enormous - the statue of liberty would fit under it - but pictures do a really bad job at conveying that; here's my best attempt:


For a long time I've wanted to take an album of pictures of people posing for a tourist photo; this is even better than that. The people on the right are taking a photo of the people on the left, who are taking a photo of the stray cat next to the... oh - there's an ancient marble urn.
