This pelican needed rescuing in a bad way. That's a fishing hook in its head, being pulled every time it moves its wings, since it's attached to fishing line, which is wrapped around them.

We tried, and it let us get started, but got uppity quick, and the line proved to be shark line, which I couldn't cut the shark line with the only crappy knife the folks at a nearby house were willing to lend us.
