Is that an arched eyebrow on Jesus? Even his mustache is arched.

The 19th century restorers of some of the frescoes painted medallions rather than faces on the angels, since hagia sophia was at that time still used as a mosque. But from the ground it really looks more like you're looking at a bird's ass.
